After the trauma of the Sex Pistol’s break-up and his bitter conflict with manager Malcolm McLaren, Johnny formed his band Public Image Ltd (PIL) with the line–up of bassist Jah Wobble and former Clash guitarist Keith Levene. Their first album ‘First Issue’, with an experimental or music concrète dub sound, was release on Virgin Records in December 1978.
