For months after forming in Paris, the Lou’s played at the Second European Punk Rock Festival at Mont de Marsan, South of France, where they met The Clash. Nine months later, when I photographed them in Camden Town, they had just completed the White Riot tour with The Clash who were putting them up in their rehearsal studio. The happy serendipity of being able to place the band against a huge ‘Samson’ advertisement would, I hoped, captured the formidable strength of the band both on and off stage.
