Open Call
Would you like to show your work at the Centre for British Photography?
The Centre for British Photography is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for photographers to exhibit their work in this high profile central London location.
The Opportunity
The Centre for British Photography is giving six photographers an opportunity to show their work. Each photographer will have their own space either in one of our two front windows or in one of our four entrance display areas. This may be in the form of up to three works or for a proposed installation in one of the six entrance spaces.
Theme
Photographers are invited to submit photographs or an installation proposal on the theme of landscape/countryside/environment.
We welcome photographs tackling wider global environmental issues, as well as imagery relating specifically to the British countryside.
Exhibition
The successful submissions will be installed in June and displayed until September to coincide with our next series of exhibitions.
Successful Photographers
Each of the six photographers will receive £200.
Printing costs, as applicable, to an agreed value, will be covered by our window exhibition sponsor: Spectrum Photographic.
Each photographer will also have their work featured on our website.
Application Process
Submission will be open from Friday 10th March to Friday 14th April until 6pm. We will not be able to review submissions sent after the closing date. We invite submission of photography installations or individual photographs.
Individual Photographs: Please provide no more than THREE photographs for review.
Photographic Installation: Please provide clear documentation of the installation with photos, proposed realisations and the feasibility of the installation in the available spaces.

Printing Specifications
Paper: C-type matt, lustre or gloss.
Max size: 1220mm x 2500mm
Giclee: Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl, Hahnemühle Photo Rag, INNOVA White Matt or Ilford Prestige Smooth Pearl
Max size: 1100mm x 2500mm
How to Submit
Email info@britishphotography.org with the subject ‘Submission for Open Call’ with the following information:
- Name of photographer
- Up to 150 words about the photographer
- Links to website or Instagram
- Up to three photographs or documentation of installation (no tiffs, and no files larger than 3MB)
- Title of the photographs or installation
- Up to 150 words about the work
- Dimensions or space requirements

It is free to submit.
Please only submit one entry.
Please do not propose ideas through Instagram.
Please only submit work if you are 18 or over.
The successful photographers will be announced the week commencing the 1st May 2023.
