These pictures are a homage to surrealism and Edward James who inherited Westdean from his father in 1912 and was a patron of artists associated with the movement. I really enjoyed enhancing the humour and playfulness of these bushes in the gardens and wanted to imbue them with a sense of character and colour reminiscent of early science fiction cinema.
